PROJECTS ROOM OF SOLUTIONS HAVE CREATED

FYENS STIFTSTIDENDE DEVELOPS AND PROPAGATES CONSTRUCTIVE AND INVOLVING JOURNALISM

During a two-year project with Fyens Stiftstidende, together with the experimental-editorial office in the city of Middelfart, I have developed several formats, which I now help implement at the rest of the media's editorial offices. All this happens in close cooperation with the management of Fyens Stiftstidende. After the development, the focus is on the anchoring, which takes place through a lot of workshops, target figures and ongoing follow-ups.

BRITISH MEDIA TECH START-UPS

Through "The Future of News Pilot Fund", I teach a select group of media tech start-ups to work more engagingly and constructively with their target audience. The teaching takes place in London, where the selected media start-ups reside.

SEVEN WEEK LESSON PLAN IN CONSTRUCTIVE JOURNALISM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

In close collaboration with the teachers of Danish language, high school students and their local media, we educate the students in constructive journalism. Throughout the course, the young pupils select several topics that they want to work with journalistically. With the help of their teachers in Danish lessons and local journalists, the students work on the topics through three steps: the news journalism, the critical/investigative journalism and finally the constructive journalism. The course concludes with a meeting in the Room of Solutions, where everybody involved is invited to discuss possible solutions.

CONSTRUCTIVE TOUR
POSTGRADUATE COURSE FOR JOURNALISTS

This September we will send a group of journalists on a postgraduate course in a tour bus. Together, we will embark on the Danish highways to develop new viable formats in constructive and involving journalism. I offer the course in cooperation with media consultant Klaus Henriksen from Mediernes Efterudannelse. The form of the course is a bus tour where we develop and share knowledge as we travel around in a VIP bus while getting packed with inspiration from visionary and brave fiery souls. We combine with the FINT model and the way that I have, through formats over the last couple of years, transposed the principles of Constructive Journalism into specific content in newspapers, social media, websites and radio/TV programs. The goal is that you leave with your very own newly developed format after the trip. A format that is just ready to be used back at the editorial office.

The course takes place from the 7th to the 9th of September 2020. We start in Jutland and end on Zealand.

Message me if you want to join.

THE COMMUNITIES OF THE FUTURE

Through a large project, the young people in the Thisted Municipality are trained to participate in the democratic debate constructively. In collaboration with Thisted Municipality, the youth organization DemokraTour and Enigma - Museum of Post, Telecom and Communication, the young people create reports of their perceptions of the meaning of communities when they are cut off from all physical communities. At the same time, they also give their views on future communities. All stories are collected at Enigma, where they will be displayed and stored for posterity. TuborgFondet supports the project.

FRA TÅRN TIL TORV - THE ROLE OF THE JOURNALIST IN INVOLVING AND CONSTRUCTIVE JOURNALISM.

In the summer of 2020, my book "Fra Tårn til Torv - The role of the journalist in involving and constructive journalism" will be published. The book is written to teach future journalists as well as experienced journalists who want to change their role to be more engaging and constructive. The book is published at Syddansk Universitetsforlag. And parts of it are already being used as a syllabus at the Journalism education at SDU.
